ASUS Master DIY Tour Brought LAN Gaming Back to Live

Jacky Lim, Business Development Director at ASUS Malaysia (pic) shares, “Themed as BYOC LAN Party, this Master DIY event featured gaming tournaments and activities whereby it gathered both casual and hard-core gamers to bring their own PC and connect under the same LAN to indulge in day-and-night long gaming sessions.”

“This is a fantastic outlet for older gamers who sought out LAN-based gaming parties that were popular before the arrival of Web-based network era. It was a special get-away event intended to connect the older generations’ gamers with the younger, interact through gameplays and at the same time to discuss hardware architectures, blueprints, product designs and more.”

Faris Yahaya, Managing Director at Cyberview says, “We advocate the union of technopreneurs and innovations in Malaysia by training and building Malaysian gamers. ASUS’ Master DIY Tour does just this wonderfully. We also hope such events will help promote Cyberjaya as the place to hold cyber games and sports tournaments; as well as to be the ‘test bed’ for gaming product development and training. This is also part of our initiative as the entity spearheading Cyberjaya’s transformation into a Global Tech Hub and to stimulate innovation and technopreneurship.”

LAN Party with Tech Showcases

“Unlike other LAN party events where its participants are mainly made up of pure gamers and have several gaming tournaments as its sub-activities. ASUS Master DIY Tour’s LAN Party also had activities such as Tech Seminar, PC Modding showcase and High-end DIY components demonstrations.”

On a special highlight, the event showcased a Desk PC - codenamed ‘Red Devil’ (pic), which was developed by Vector, the local Desk PC manufacturer in collaboration with A.P.E.S, the custom water cooling and high-end PC hardware provider.
