In this section, we will make an unboxing of Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate. Thermaltake makes the Water 3.0 Series with the same box design of simple dark blue and Water 3.0 Ultimate logo with simple picture illustration of the cooler itself.

Thermaltake wrapped the box with transparent plastic which can be easily to tear and remove it. On the bottom right of the box, Thermaltake did mentioned a few features of the cooler itself.

At the bottom part, user can access full specification of the Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate. On the right side is the translated version of features into other foreign languages.

At the back side, there’s full detail of features and a graph of performance for the cooler compared with the stock cooler. On the bottom part is the illustration part on how the cooler look itself and the mounting given.

As we open the box, the cooler is well protected inside the package with foam on the top to prevent the radiator from scratching with the box during transportation.

All the accessories bundled with the cooler.

  • Cooler itself
  • Manual Book
  • 3x Fan
  • All the screws and backplate for both Intel and AMD

Thermaltake uses a powerful fan to blow the heat of the radiator out of the chassis to maximize cooling performance.

Thermaltake design the pump with high reliability, low profile pump to provide quick liquid circulation without producing high noise. If user can notice, Thermaltake is using the high-tech sealed fitting for the cooler circulation system to prevent leaking issue. The system is pre-filled with coolant to reduce the liquid replenishment hassle.

Thermaltake design the waterblock with wider block to increase the space and cooling area covered. The base is plated with copper that helps to accelerate the heat conductivity.

This is the setup that was used for the whole testing and benchmarking process for the Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate AIO Cooler

For the stress test we compare between Intels stock cooler and Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate AIO Cooler. The processor are preset and test on both stock setting at 1.08V vCore and overclocked to 4.2GHz with 1.12V vCore using the ASUS OC Tuner that comes with the motherboard and tortured for 30 minutes with Prime95 stressing application.

As you can see here, the load temperature obtained with the Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate was 37°C lower than the stock cooler, which is a very good improvement. Besides that, this AIO cooler also reduced the idle temperature by 13 °C.

When the processor is overclocked to 4.2 GHz, the cooler is slightly stressed with higher temperature produced from the processor. The maximum temperature recorded is 64°C which is 40°C lower than the stock cooler.

Now it comes to the final part of the review. Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate is the largest member of the Water 3.0 Family. Thermaltake did another great job of making one of the best AIO Cooler on the market. The fan is really useful as it can monitor the liquid temperature and control the fan with user desires. The cooler is easy to install and its come with the bracket holder thus make the installation process much easier. User might want to double check the casing that could support this monster before planning to purchase it. Of course for test bench user, it won’t really gave much trouble apart the tube might be too short. There’s a lot of improvement of safety and performance compared with the lower end of Water 3.0 Series as the tube it came with the safety clamp to ensure users with leaking issue.

Finally, I would like to say thank you to Thermaltake for giving me a chance to play with Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate and review the cooler itself.
