OWC Offers Cross-Platform Flexibility and RAID Performance with the Mercury Elite Pro Quad

OWC®, a leading zero emissions Mac and PC technology company, is making drive juggling a thing of the past with the new OWC Mercury Elite Pro Quad. The new external storage solution offers four drive bays to provide massive amounts of storage from a single USB-C™ connection, with the flexibility to be utilized in Mac, PC and mixed Mac/PC environments. Designed for users who require high capacity storage with fast transfer speeds, the Mercury Elite Pro Quad is ideal for use by post- production firms, photographers, creative agencies, higher education programs, and small businesses.

Key Features

  • Four SATA drive bays support up to 48TB of storage in a desktop solution
  • Up to 947MB/s of USB 3.1 Gen 2 performance
  • Equipped with the SoftRAID engine
  • RAID Ready or RAID Edition (Mac only)
  • Drives included – 3 year OWC limited warranty
  • Enclosure only – 1 year OWC limited warranty

The Mercury Elite Pro Quad’s USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface and USB-C port work universally with any USB-C or Thunderbolt™ 3 equipped Mac or Windows™ PC. And the included USB-C to USB-A adapter cable provides the ability to connect to any USB equipped computer. The heat-dissipating aluminum enclosure, whisper-quiet fan and vibration-absorbing feet keep the unit running reliably cool and quiet.

OWC recognizes that not everyone needs every single RAID mode, and has added the option for users to choose what works best for their individual workflow.  It is available in two versions of the SoftRAID engine for Mac users, one with RAID 0 and RAID 1 modes along with disk certification and drive monitoring, and one with support for RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 4, RAID 5, and RAID 1+0. Windows users can create simple (striped), two-way mirrored, or parity storage spaces directly in Windows 7, 8, or 10.

The Mercury Elite Pro Quad 4-bay external storage device is now available at MacSales.com and authorized OWC resellers.
